Feels Like Magic
Feels Like Magic
It’s been just over a year since I officially launched my new business, it’s been an incredible year with a lot of reflection work, giving me time and space to connect deeper to my business and my clients.
As creative business owners we often start out our businesses following our passion, we have an idea of what it is we want to do and move forwards from a place of nerves, excitement and doing what we love. What we’re not so great at is the business side of running a business.
Listening to our business is crucial to our growth, as we become more involved with our business and start to generate familiarity it’s important to listen and record our customers experience with us. Understanding what it is that we really do for our clients and how we do it is how we align our passion to be in service of our clients.
This insight becomes invaluable as we continue to grow our businesses, it enables us to grow outside of ourselves and the limits of our initial vision and inner beliefs, connecting deeper to our creative purpose and authenticity so we can build a business with soul. It gives us the information we sometimes can not see when we are so closely intertwined with what we do.
Connecting deeper to our business helps us form confidence, clarity, direction and refines our brand, accelerating our business growth. It enables us to look back at how far we have come and also helps us connect to our bigger picture.
After months of a ceiling full of sticky notes and A5 sheets full of insight on my walls, absorbing myself in the detail my clients and my business has given me I’ve started pulling all that information together to help me see what I’m missing, own what I’m doing and fully step into the parts of me that I’ve shied away from, either consciously or subconsciously.
I know one of the parts I’d hidden away from saying out loud when I started was how my intuition is such an important part of my USP, fear of being seen as too woo woo and yet it’s one of the most repeating words my clients use about me and one of my most powerful assets they connect with. It’s also a huge part of who I am, I’ve spent almost 20 years refining this skill through spiritual development and have relied on connecting with it greatly over the years personally, in business and creatively. When I introduced intuition and connection techniques in my workshops the delegates have been blown away.
Seeing it in front of me in black and white, over and over this last year has been so empowering, it made me realize the importance of leaning into what we are resisting and have one of those great big lightbulb moments of ‘you can’t hide what everyone else can see … so just own it’
This recent insight exercise has also deepened my connection to who I am as an authentic creator, my creative purpose and has opened up the vision for my next steps, showing me the natural path of my business.
So my two questions to you would be … when was the last time you really listened to your business? if you sat down and listened to your creativity, your business, your clients … what is your business saying to you? I’d love to hear your answers.
I’d love you to check out my new website too, send me your feedback and thoughts, if it’s not for you, don’t forget to unsubscribe from my mailing list, I’ve got a lot to share these coming months and want to make sure I’m communicating with people who want to hear what it is I have to share. I promise not to bombard your inbox. Weekly(ish) blog posts is what I’m aiming for with a monthly newsletter being my ultimate goal.
Until next time … keep being you x
