The Magic of Intuition
The Magic of Intuition
‘When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come close to the conclusion that the gift of imagination has meant more to me than any talent for absorbing absolute knowledge. All great achievements of science must start from intuitive knowledge. I believe in intuition and inspiration…’ Albert Einstein
Intuition is such an important part of who we are, our authentic creativity – our story telling. When we connect to our intuition we gift ourselves expansive resources of inspiration, we find our creative flow. We learn to trust in ourselves enabling us to be more courageous in our creativity, creating from a place of knowing, of confidence … of authenticity. When we trust our self our confidence soars, we empower ourselves to take action, to be our version of more, making decisions that serve us and our creative process.
“Intuition is something that provides understanding and judgment without any rational justification. This is why a lot of times we’re not listening to our intuition because we’re trying to justify it rationally and you won’t find the justification,” said Alla Branzburg, LCSW, psychotherapist and adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. “So we write it off as irrational and illogical, and a lot of times we’re missing out on a very important skill we possess.”
Learning to trust those feelings within us that we can’t explain, we become bolder, we become more curious and our creative process expands, allowing us to create from a space that is greater than our fears, our limiting beliefs, and we stop playing ‘safe’ … we have fun, pushing our creative boundaries to the max, becoming more expressive in our story telling. Trusting our intuition gives us a strong sense of self belief, it triggers inspiration, empowering us to take action and create.
Our intuition allows us to be more intune with the people, places and environments that surrounds us, allowing us to connect on a deeper level where we can listen from the depths of who we are. It enables us to tell a story through our images with meaning and purpose. When we listen from this place we don’t allow preconceived ideas that come from a place of fear or anxiety to get in the way of our creativity blocking our flow. We are connected and flow with what we feel, with what we know, rather than what we think we should know or do.
Connecting deeper to others, to ourselves, to our creative spirit allows us to develop a stronger sense of authenticity in our work, our art, our relationships. Our clients feel heard and our art has a voice as we understand and become understood.
Imagine being so intune with your art that you had a strong sense of your subject, you saw beyond who or what stood in front of you and created with a deeper level of understanding, with greater vision and confidence. Imagine understanding your subjects needs, their story, their essence, their hopes and their dreams. Imagine understanding the feelings they are trying or wanting to convey but can’t quite express and being able to conceptualise and capture them, making your subject feel heard, alive and articulating this through your creativity creating images with impact, with meaning … with soul.
How would this impact your creative work, your authenticity?
I ran a successful portrait, wedding and fine art business for 10 years. I used my intuition to separate me from the crowd, to grow my business and craft my art. I used my intuition to create from, to find my authentic voice, to tell my story and that of others. I used my intuition to listen to what my subjects and clients needed – making them feel safe, building trust that allowed me to not only deliver what was wanted, but take them beyond what they thought was possible, expanding imagination and capturing what lies beneath.
People ask me what inspires my creative work … my answer is simple … my intuition – my feelings … it’s my ability to connect to my self, to the people around me on a deeper level, to energy, to the space I’m in, to resonate with that space and create from it.
I’ve spent almost 20 years practicing meditation and developing my intuitive creative muscle and 13 years expressing that through my art. I’m sharing what I know in my workshop Shooting with Soul … it’s different, it’s challenging, it’s empowering, it’s creative, it’s fun and it’s getting results … if you’re ready to be bold and courageous with you and your creativity … this is for you.
